The Friends’ Association of the State Ballet School Berlin e.V.

Our Friends’ Association is a flagship for the Berlin State Ballet School and it has a tradition: in 2021 it celebrated its 30th anniversary. Currently, around 150 members are involved, all of whom are enthusiastic fans of classical and contemporary ballet and feel very connected to the school. The range of possible funding measures is wide. With our association as a co-financier, students were able to be included in the support of the Germany Scholarship for gifted and high-achieving students. Class trips, clothing, ballet shoes or trips home and joint events for all students of the school are also supported. In addition, they can receive subsidies for boarding school costs or necessary material resources, among other things.

Not only the students benefit from the Friends’ Association, but also the school itself. For example, fees for guest lecturers and choreographers are covered so that the repertoire can be constantly expanded and the profile strengthened. Even the organisation of financial resources for the professional stage lighting system in the theatre was provided by the Friends’ Association, through an application to the Lotto Foundation.
