Experience dance, expression, joy: Welcome to the children’s dance classes in the rooms of the State Ballet School Berlin!
Children have a great need for movement, rhythm and expression. Our support association cordially invites your child to discover the fascinating world of dance! With our children’s dance classes, the Förderverein Staatliche Ballettschule Berlin e.V. offers a well-founded introduction to dance.
In preparation for admission to the Berlin State Ballet and Artistic School and as a leisure activity, children’s dance courses are held twice a week in the afternoons for girls and boys in grades 1 to 4.
What can your child expect?
For us, the joy of movement is in the foreground, coupled with age-appropriate dance training. Under the guidance of our experienced teachers and the répétiteurs, the children get to know the fascinating world of dance.
• Basic training in play: posture, coordination, agility and sense of rhythm
• Creativity and expression: The children develop their own body awareness and learn to express feelings and stories in movement
• Community and joy: Dancing together in a group strengthens self-confidence, social skills and team spirit
• Unique environment: Classes take place in the immediate vicinity of the renowned Berlin State Ballet School – an inspiring place for young dance enthusiasts!
• Performance opportunities: The children’s dance courses are regularly presented at the open day and in the annual closing event in the theatre hall of the Berlin State Ballet School.
Transition to the State Ballet and Artistic School Berlin
The children who are interested in admission to the State Ballet and Artistic School Berlin after completing the Children’s Dance Course IV first take an aptitude test and, if passed, the entrance exam (usually in May). The aptitude test and entrance exam are carried out by dance teachers from the State Ballet and Artistry School Berlin and prepared by the children’s dance teachers. Part of the entrance exam is also a dance medical examination.
Costs
With the beginning of the contract, a fee of € 72.00 per month will be charged. One lesson lasts 60 minutes. Classes do not take place during the holidays. The fee is paid monthly in advance. If more than one child from a family attends the preparatory class for stage dance, the fee for the second and each additional child is reduced to XY €.
